Welcome to Warriors Edge-Home of Warrior Fit
At The Warriors Edge, Keepin’ it real is more than a slogan, it’s about how we train and how we try to live. Our MMA curriculum is taught by professional MMA fighter Billy Buch who uses the training methods and techniques he teaches in the cage when he is competing. That’s real. Rick Laue, one of our stick and knife fighting instructors, uses the arts he teaches when he stick and knife fights with the Dog Brothers. That too is real. Lastly, Bubba Norton has been hired by the U.S. Army to train our soldiers in close quarter combatives prior to their oversea deployments and has worked with several police departments and the Texas Department of Public Safety teaching our law enforcements officers edged weapon tactics and defenses. Training the people who defend our freedoms and keep us safe at night is very real . In short, we don’t teach or train “fluff”. Our fighting methods are tried and proven and are used in the cage, the streets, and overseas every day. That is as real as it gets.
In keeping with “keepin’ it real”, our fitness programs are not for everyone. They were created by Fit4Life’s Rusty Odom to prepare our MMA fighters for their upcoming fights. As people started watching their workout routines they began to ask if they could try it, we let them, and after combining Fit4Life and Warriors Edge, Warrior Fit was born. Our gym is old school. We don’t have AC so it is hot. We don’t have fancy equipment. For our conditioning we primarily use tires, sledge hammers, and ropes. Mixed martial arts is a grueling sport, and few athletes are as well conditioned as mixed martial artists. Our conditioning programs are used for reasons other than fitness. Our programs were created to prepare our fighters for battle. Our fitness members who have no interest in fighting have a real opportunity to train like a fighter, along with fighters, as they prepare for battle, and that is keeping it real.
The Warriors Edge is not a building, a group of instructors, a fighting system, or a training program. A Warrior’s Edge is his or her fighting spirit. It’s a spirit that is bigger than a building, a teacher or two, or a fighter. If you think you can handle it, we invite you to come be a part of it.
Keepin’ it real,
Bubba
